“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:12-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This verse is a reminder to move on, and look ahead to what God has planned in our lives. It is a reminder that we don’t have to be defined by our past mistakes, only our current and future relationship with the Heavenly Father. A reminder that we are loved by our Savior and have something worth straining ahead toward.

Don’t let temporary defeat get you down to the point where you can’t appreciate God’s presence in your daily life. God wants to bless you, but when we lose focus of the one who brings the blessings we will miss out because we lose sight of what is really important.

As we strive to live Holy lives in the sight of God let us remember to always keep our eyes fixed heavenward and never doubting what God is wanting to do in our lives. As Dr. Bresee said those many years ago; “Nothing to the left, nothing to the right, Jesus Only!” Strain toward something worthwhile, press on toward someone who loves you even when you can’t find it in you to love yourself. Keep walking forward toward eternal life in the portals of glory in heaven.

Live a life of Holiness as you walk with Christ each and every day of your life!

God Bless,

Pastor Matthew
